That's too bad, in my experience that's the people that could benefit the most from some training.

+1 and like stacy said, that's usually the last kind of person you want to share the track with (one that already knows everything)...

the first step to learning how to drive is accepting that you really have no idea how to drive...i think most people realize that at their first DE

I'm on my 12th(ish) DE, and I still don't know how to drive. Maybe I need to give Peter a call.

I know I did, I don't think I'll ever forget my first ride with my Instructor in his 95 M3.
Really made me realize how much there is to learn.

You seem to do OK, you're just slower than some...

Course, there is always somebody out there that's faster, I just don't let it bother me and do my thing. shift

exactly, there is always somebody that's faster...the key is to try to learn something from them...

i'm constantly trying to soak up as much knowledge as i can when it comes to driving, car prep, driver prep, etc

Agreed, but I meant more as in getting passed during your session.

I'll take anything that improves my meager abilities.

Heh. Yeah +1 on that. I am becoming an expert on getting passed.

It's cool though -- I'd rather be behind someone to watch their line than worry about driving my mirrors.

I'll see you on the track big guy. Very Happy

i agree.

one of my most recent students was a big-ego'd professional driver (in his own mind), who was attending his first ever event. through the first couple of sessions, i was fairly sure he was going to kill us. after that, we had a serious...umm...heart-to-heart conversation about what was going on out there and the role that we each needed to play.

after that, with the ego and all he thought he knew sitting in the paddock, we went out and for the rest of the weekend exceeded our expectations by a wide margin.

he really made me wish more know-it-all's would come out and learn. we'd all be better off.
