I just received the following and was asked to share it with you.

Who: Hurricane Region PCA
When: October 29-30, Saturday-Sunday
Where: North Carolina Speedway, Rockingham NC
(~1.5 hours south of Raleigh-Durham)
Student and Instructor spots are still available. A limited number of
rental garages remain. The event is open to any licenced driver over 18
years old. All cars are welcome, although open top cars must conform to
the safety standards described on the registration form.

The Web page with info for information:
http://www.trackschedule.com/HurricaneDE.html

Oh! Coastal Empire members can estimate the driving distance as approximately FOUR HOURS from Savannah.

let me preface by saying its a fun track (of course i have yet to go to a track that i didnt have fun driving Wink )

-its a pretty simple track: short and not a lot of turns
-the infield portion is absolutely flat (i'm a big fan of elevation changes)
-the infield is pretty slow and technical, it takes some patience
-the surface is pretty bad, its real gritty and needs to be blown off constantly (thscc was really good about it and there were no problems, nasa wasnt blowing it off and there was shit flying everywhere during the races)
-it has some pretty rough/bumpy parts...the transitions to and from the banking are pretty bumpy, especially coming off the banking where you are trying to get some braking done...that area gives my car fits since its so damn stiff...
-there isnt much room for error out on the oval, walls all around, but that should be a problem in a DE setting...

overall, i enjoy driving there but would rather drive other tracks...
