Dudes, just went to wash the car and it's f'd up again. My temporary fix was very temporary it seems. Unless someone has an s38 valve cover gasket handy I'm out. Sad

Day turned out really well. After the sketchy weather on Friday, it actually turned out to be a great day for the event.

Alex and I did the early morning caravan (if 2 cars can be considered a caravan) to Flow to meet up with the MDrive. Flow had coffee and breakfast food for us, but we only had a few minutes before we left for the drive. The ~25 cars immediately got split up at the traffic light onto 40, but Alex and I were in a group of about 10 cars for the drive. We all ended up being responsible citizens on the drive, with the possible exception of the guy in the Nissan who got pulled for getting sideways through an intersection.

Once we got to the vineyard, there was just a ton of really cool cars. Very hard to figure out what was my favorite. David got there in the afternoon and took advantage of the tasting room and grabbed some lunch in the on-site restaurant, which was actually pretty nice. Although they didn't have any reservations available, we ran into Truett Ray (of Shade Tree Garage) and his wife Cindy who happened to have 2 extra seats in their reservation and generously asked us to join them. Couldn't have worked out better.

Took a bunch of pics, but the album is 2002 heavy, though there were lots of other great cars. I have a soft spot for e28s, but I barely took any pictures of them - guess I was too busy drooling.

Pics here

We had a great time there. I never did see Alex, but I did see David's car in the parking lot. I was impressed with the massive 2002 turnout this year. I love the 2002s and so does my wife. After last year I thought I'd be tasked with finding an Inca Orange 02, but now it looks like I need to find a Colorado Orange 02 Touring. The Tourings are pretty sweet. I also really enjoyed the e28 section. There were some gorgeous examples on display. I took a ton of pics and will post them up later today or maybe tomorrow.

Also, we stayed at the Fairfield Inn in Elkin and loved it. The rooms were big and comfy, the pool was great for the kids, and the free wine tasting was a nice bonus. We came home with a case of wine - 11 bottles from Shelton and a bottle from the vineyard hosting the wine tasting at the hotel. And we opened a bottle of Reisling while listening to the band at Shelton. Good times were had by all. Can't wait for next year.

Who wants to park on a steep hill anyway? Your car might just tumble down the hill. Razz

I had a great time - we washed over 100 cars on Friday. Maybe we invoked the storm by washing too many cars in one place... Embarassed

Was pretty much locked down at the GlossHaus tent for Saturday. It was a lot of fun, but the day is a blur...

Looking forward to next year!
