Anyone up for a drive in the Boone area? There was one for the past two years, and I am wondering if there is going to be one this year. Have not been checking DTM carefully, so I don't know if the DTM guys are already calling for one.

dtm got lazy with organization...no more SEMAGs no nothin ...it takes effort to organize a drive, and one person alone cant do it...ppl should be greatful of event organizers, as this goes for all events. you cant just post and have it happen magically. </rant> Rolling Eyes

I certainly do agree that event organizers are super important. Not to bad-mouth the DTM folks or anything, but I got a creepy feeling that they are just falling apart. Hopefully, they were not so traumatized by Chris Bangle's creations that they all jumped ship. My brother was a hardcore BMW/DTM guy until a couple of years ago... when he just stopped liking German cars and embraced Lexus like his mistress.

Anyhow, if you are up in Boone and willing to show us where to drive, be sure to speak up.

And I hope this happens before my working weekends teaching hs kids the SAT kick in.

I got out of doing the SEMAGs simply because I couldn't get anybody to back me up...kind of a task anyway.

Anyway, there's a BMW GTG planned Nov. 12 in Raliegh.

Yeh... too bad about SEMAG, the videos of a bunch of bimmers going down the freeway were pretty impressive.

Man... looks like I am going to sell my A4 and get in a S2000 to do mountain drives from now on. Those guys will do the Dragon any day of the year.

Anyhow, I am off Monday with fall break. If I don't have school work to do, I may just head up to Asheville/Boone myself.

Well, let Jason or I know...we're close enough and usually up for something.

Thanks for the offer, think you guys will be free on Monday? But it is probably not crucial for me to have a guide. Since my car is relatively slow and my skill can't even match the car's slowness, I will most likely be satisfied with going down Blue Ridge at speeds even the rangers won't mind. However, it is always nice to drive with someone else than to strike alone, I am just thinking Monday is probably not going to work with you guys.
