Well... after much waffling, I've decided to jump in with both feet and host my own track event Smile

I've hinted at it on a few other threads, but now it's for real...

Friday, August 3rd, Carolina Motorsports Park...

Basically, this will be an open-track type event. Instructors, Advanced, and Intermediate (with prior approval) level experience required.

I'm doing it immediately before the TZC/THSCC event, so hopefully those of you doing that event, and meet the experience requirements, can get some extra time off and join me for a very fun, relaxing day at the track.

For all the details, and to register, please head on over to MotorsportReg.com following this link:

Stacy,

In your professional opinion, is an "advanced" student who has never done that particular track stupid to run solo?

No... not at all... here's why:

Advanced level drivers already have the basics down... driving on track, and in traffic, for the most part, is second nature. Learning a new track is part of the fun. But for an advanced driver, it doesn't make him/her dangerous.

Plus, there will be plenty of people willing to go for a ride, or especially take you for a ride, to show you the basic line.

Yes... so long as they are a paid participant (either a driver, or they've checked in and paid the $25 ride-along fee).

BTW...

For anyone already on MSR, even if you aren't planning on attending this event, please log in to your account and add Asphalt Ventures to you club membership list. This will enable you to receive emails from me when I set up more events (and if this one goes even remotely well (i.e. I don't lose my ass on it) there WILL be more events.

I'm not an "advanced" student, and have only run in the blue group with THSCC once, and in the B group with BMWCCA once.

I have run in one FCA open lapping day event at VIR though, if that counts for something... Confused

And all my track experience is at VIR.

I am interested in attending since I'll be at the TZC/THSCC event that weekend as well, and was wondering what you think.

Thanks,

Fred

Fred... Blue with TZC/THSCC and B with BMWCCA definitely qualifies for my events. I'd be glad to have you.

Stacy,

Will sign up ASAP. So if I read correctly, I can take passengers as long as they are a) signed up for the event, and/or b) sign and pay a $25 ridealong fee.

Signed up and P.I.F.

I have never been to CMP, but would say I'm an "advanced" driver. Will be up there for the weekend as well.
