Hey guys... help us make the last event of the year (for us anyway) a success!!

We'll be hosting our usual DE and time trial at the NC Speedway in Rockingham October 6th & 7th. Since this is the last event of the year, we try to do it as right as we can... NASCAR garages are available for $25 for the weekend (while they last) and we will be providing a catered buffet style lunch both days for everyone (guests are $10 ea).

The DE weekend is $265 after your NCEuro discount...

(When you sign up, enter NCEURO in the discount code box on the order form to get $25 off the registration fee. Those of you who are NCEURO members AND THSCC or TZC members can take this discount off the member pricing for an additional discount)

The time trial is $30
(Open to cars prepped w/a minimum of a 4-point roll bar, current date 5 or 6 point harnesses, metal to metal mounted fire extinguisher, and an AMB transponder (some available as loaners or for purchase with advance notice)

We are also working on trying to get a group of vintage and possibly modern NASCAR cars for some exhibition runs around the full oval.

If you haven't driven Rockingham yet, it is something you need to experience at least once in your tracking lifetime, if for no other reason to experience 22 degree banking in your street car Smile ... and depending on what happens this fall, there's a possibility this may be your last chance.
(The track is scheduled for sale/auction this winter. Rumor is the American Stock car Association has made an offer.)

It's a short circuit (about 1.6 miles) but feels faster because of the layout. Like VIR South course, you get a ton of laps and the track has a good rhythm and flow to it. This year we added some gators to the infield section to help alleviate some of the debris issues.

Oh Yeah... registration link might be helpful huh? Wink

Looking forward to it! Pretty sweet track.

Autocross97: Will this be your big return to The Rock? You should do it. Get back on that horse, if you will.

When are you going to start time trialling? I'll put a $25 credit on the MSR account for ya. (Actually added $25 to your existing credit)

Well twist my arm, possibly the last chance.
I'm sold! Registered and paid.

So who else is going to throw down and try another new track this year?

Not me, I'm freaking broke.

I'd be down for a 1-day event prior to or after this one.

Even with all the money you saved on those "Wearever" brake pads?
Very Happy

I'm doing the Sept event at VIR with BMWCCA, but not sure about October.

I'll be there.

Like Stacy said, you owe it to yourself to try this place at least once. And since this may be the last event ever held there, you better sign up!

Also...rumor has it Stacy may even re-inact Will Farrell's "tightie-whitie, I'm on fire scene" from Talladega Nights for us. (Which was filmed on The Rock's front straight). Laughing

Thanks for the credit. I'll start TT'ing when I get fast.

What do I need? I have a rollbar, seats and harnesses...I need a transponder and a fire extinguisher?

I also want to double-check that I got a garage. Can't remember if you could reserve a garage through the online app or did it have to be sent in separately? (PCA did....I get confused...)

And is Asphalt Anonymous (AA) going to tack on a 3rd day? Wink

That's certainly not a requirement... and you are fast btw...

Thats about it... make sure you have SFI HD padding on the bar, and that your belts are up to date (which they should be anyway) and you're good to go. We can even loan you a transponder at Rockingham if you want to try it. It's basically just another 15 minute intense session for another $15 a day.

Yes you could, and yes you did

I'm waiting for a call back from the people we rent the track from to check rates. AA... I like that LOL

Thanks. I'll do what I can to get some padding and a fire extinguisher for the event. If I can do it I'll sign up for the TT. How much notice do you need? And yes, I would need to borrow a transponder. If I get addicted, I'll buy one.

Thanks for the confirmation on the rest.

I'll go ahead and pencil you in for a transponder. Otherwise, you can make the decision the day of.

Just an FYI...

I've decided against running a lapping day with the TZC/THSCC Rockingham event. Past efforts by others have resulted in major losses, and with barely over a month to promote it, I don't think it would be feasible.

There is no price break for a weekday event there, so I don't think the per person price would be cheap enough.

I'm working on 2008 dates right now (possibly late this year if something is available). Any requests? Very Happy

I can tell you, if/when I do a VIR event, it will probably be on a Monday to keep costs down. The weekday price break does not apply to Fridays.
